Below are a few books I have enjoyed reading and learning from
This book details the journey of a family as they attempt to grow their own produce, eat locally what they cannot raise, and do it all according to the natural season of vegetable growth, a concept we all seem to have forgotten. Full of idea’s, recipes, guilt trips about the way we all act towards food, and lots of good lessons. While alot of what they manage to accomplish is impossible for the average family, lots of good ideas and concepts can be taken out of this book.
One of the best chef memoirs I have ever read - Gabrielle definitely lead an interesting life and does an amazing job of telling you about it. As opposed to staying up all night because I couldn’t put it down, I found myself reading it slowly because I just couldn’t stand the thought of it being over.
The quintessential book if you want to analyze the way you eat and learn the unfortunate details about the food most of us end up eating. His biggest theme is less meat, more vegetables.
